SPAM® Greek Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 can SPAM® Lite or SPAM® Less Sodium, diced (1cm x 1cm)
  • 1/2 head Iceberg Lettuce, chopped
  • 1/3 cup Feta Cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup Olives, sliced
  • 1/4 Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 whole Lemon Juice & Zest
  • 1/3 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 Garlic Clove, grated
  • ¾ tsp Sugar
  • 2 pinches Oregano
  • Quail Eggs, sliced

Dressing

1. GRATE Garlic Clove
2. SQUEEZE Lemon Juice, GRATE some Lemon Zest
3. WHISK together Lemon Juice & Zest, Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, Garlic, and Salt, Pepper & Sugar

Salad

1. Cut SPAM® into small cubes then pan fry
2. TOSS SPAM®, Chopped Iceberg Lettuce, Quail Eggs, Crumbled Feta, Sliced Olives, Cherry Tomatoes
3. ADD Dressing
4. TOSS Salad

SPAM® Battered & Fried

Ingredients

  • 1 can SPAM® Classic, sliced into 8
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 3 Egg Whites
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs (from toasted stale bread)
  • 3 cups Oil for deep frying

PROCEDURE

1. PREHEAT Oil to 375 F.
2. COAT SPAM® slices in Flour
3. COAT SPAM® slices in Egg Whites
4. COAT SPAM® slices in Breadcrumbs
5. REPEAT steps 2-4
6. FRY in hot oil for 3-5 mins or until golden brown

SPAM® Canton Noodles

Ingredients

  • 1 can SPAM® Classic or SPAM® Less Sodium, sliced into 1/2 cm strips
  • 2 cakes Dried Canton Noodles, blanched
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 1/2 small Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp Celery Stalks, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup Carrots, julienned
  • 1/4 cup Bok Choy
  • 1/4 Baby Corn
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 2 tsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 3/4 tsp Sugar
  • Chicken Breast, diced

PROCEDURE

1. HEAT Water and Cooking Oil
2. BLANCH Dried Canton Noodles for 1 minute
3. STRAIN Dried Canton Noodles and set aside
4. BLANCH Broccoli florets, Julienned Carrots, Bok Choy and Baby Corn for 1 minute, then strain and set aside in ice bath
5. HEAT Cooking Oil on a large wok
6. SAUTE Minced Garlic, Sliced Onions, Chopped Celery Stalks
7. ADD SPAM® strips and sauté for 3 mins
8. ADD Canton Noodles and cook until done
9. ADD Fried SPAM® strips, Broccoli florets, Julienned Carrots, Bok Choy and Baby Corn
10. STIR-FRY until everything is incorporated well
11. SERVE with Calamansi on the side

SPAM® Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1 can SPAM® Bacon, sliced into 4
  • 2 slices White Bread
  • 1 slice Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 slices Emmental Cheese
  • 1 tbsp Mayonnaise

PROCEDURE

1. SPREAD Mayonnaise evenly on Bread Slices
2. HEAT Butter on skillet on medium heat
3. PLACE a Bread Slice on the skillet, Mayonnaise-side down
4. PLACE a Cheddar Cheese Slice on top of Sliced Bread
5. PLACE Fried SPAM® Bacon Slices on top of the cheese
6. PLACE an Emmental Cheese Slice on top of SPAM® Bacon Slices
7. TOP with Bread Slice, Mayonnaise-side side facing up
8. LIGHTLY PRESS with press pan or panini press for about 2 minutes
9. TURN OVER sandwich with spatula
10. LIGHTLY PRESS again
11. SLICE sandwich in half, then serve on a plate

Spicy SPAM® Tortilla Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 can SPAM® MaLa or SPAM® Less Sodium, cut into strips
  • 1 medium Tortilla
  • 1/4 cup Colby Jack Cheese, grated
  • 1 tbsp White Onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup Green Bell Pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp Corn Kernels, roasted

Herb Sour Cream Cheese Dip

  • 2 tbsp Sour Cream
  • 1 tbsp Cream Cheese
  • 2/3 Fresh Basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice Pinch of Salt and Pepper

PROCEDURE

HERB SOUR CREAM CHEESE DIP

1. BLEND Sour Cream, Cream Cheese, Chopped Fresh Basil, Chopped Cilantro, Lemon Juice, Salt and Pepper


WRAP

1. LAY OUT Tortilla flat on a surface
2. LIGHTLY SPREAD Herb Sour Cream Cheese on one half of the Tortilla
3. ADD Roasted Corn
4. ADD SPAM® strips
5. ADD Sliced White Onions
6. ADD Sliced Green Bell Pepper
7. ADD Grated Colby Jack Cheese
8. ROLL Tortilla tightly
9. OPTIONAL : CUT Roll into 4 sections and secure each section with a skewer
10. SERVE with Tomato Salsa

SPAM® Hash

Ingredients

  • 1 can SPAM® MaLa or SPAM® Less Sodium, diced (1cm x 1 cm)
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 2 Large Potato, Diced and Parcooked
  • 1/4 White Onion, Diced Grated Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • Cilantro for garnishing

PROCEDURE

1. HEAT Butter on skillet on medium heat.
2. COOK Diced Potatoes on medium-high heat until sides have browned lightly.
3. SEASON with Black Pepper and a pinch of Salt.
4. COVER and cook Diced Potatoes on medium heat until tender inside.
5. ADD SPAM® diced and cook until sides are slightly toasted.
6. ADD Diced White Onions and cook until soft.
7. ADD Grated Cheddar Cheese and let it melt on top of the potatoes, SPAM® and onions.
8. TOP with Cilantro.

Steamed Tofu with SPAM® & Dried shrimps

Ingredients

  • Tofu 150g
  • SPAM® Low Sodium or new SPAM® MaLa 150g
  • Tofu 150g
  • Dried shrimps 10g
  • Light soy sauce
  • Salt
  • Dried red pepper
  • Scallions
  • Broth ⅔ cup

Preparation

1. Slice SPAM® (5mm thick), and stir-fry SPAM® slices until they golden brown
2. Put diced Tofu into pot of salted water, then cook until boiling.
3. Take tofu out from boiling water, put into cold water
4. In a wok, quickly stir fry the dried small shrimp
5. Add broth add one teaspoon of salt. Cook on high heat for 2-3 minutes
6. Put tofu into broth and cook around 3 more minutes
7. Add SPAM slices into broth and carefully stir
8. Add soy sauce and few drops of oil to taste
9. Garnish with scallions and dried red pepper

Steam Bun SPAM® Sandwich

Ingredients

  • SPAM® Less Sodium 150g
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Steamed buns

Preparation

1. Slice SPAM® into thick slices
2. Slice steamed bun and coat it with beaten eggs, then pan fry until golden
3. Pan fry SPAM® until golden.
4. Sandwich fried SPAM® between the two steamed buns

SPAM® Dumpling Wrapper Soup

Ingredients

  • SPAM® Less Sodium 100g
  • Green vegetables 50g
  • Dumpling wrapper 100g
  • Tomato 50g
  • 2 Eggs
  • Salt
  • Light soy sauce

Preparation

1. Slice SPAM®, and cut dumpling wrapper into 4 pieces
2. In a wok scramble eggs with tomato, then add SPAM® and continue to stir fry
3. Add boiling water into the wok, cook dumpling wrapper and vegetables
4. Season with salt and light soy sauce

SPAM® Spring Roll

Ingredients

  • SPAM® Classic 150g
  • Spring roll wrapper
  • Chinese chives 100g
  • Carrot 100g
  • Black fungus 50g
  • Light soy sauce 10g
  • Oyster sauce 10g
  • Salt 4g
  • Sugar 2g

Preparation

1. Preheat oil in a deep-fryer
2. Make the spring roll filling: SPAM®, black fungus, shredded carrot and Chinese chives. Mix with salt
3. Put some of the filling in a line across the middle of a spring roll wrapper
4. Roll from the edge to the center, then fold the sides in, then continue rolling.
5. Wet the edge of the wrapper with water and close off the wrap
6. Deep-fry several SPAM® spring rolls at a time until rolls turn golden brown.
7. Remove from heat, cool spring rolls on paper towel to remove excess oil.

SPAM® Fries

Ingredients

  • SPAM® Classic or new SPAM® MaLa
  • Tomato sauce
  • Hollandaise sauce

Preparation

1. Chop SPAM® Classic or new SPAM® MaLa into stripes
2. Pan-fry SPAM® strip
3. Serve with dipping sauce

SPAM® with Bacon BLT

Ingredients

  • 1 12-ounce can SPAM® with Bacon, sliced into 8
  • 8 slices of sourdough bread, toasted
  • 8 leaves of butter lettuce, washed
  • 8 slices of heirloom tomato
  • 2 avocados, smashed with the juice of one lime and a pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of canola oil
  • ½ cup of mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of hot sauce

Preparation

1. Heat oil in pan, fry SPAM® with Bacon on each side until golden brown, then put fried SPAM® with Bacon in paper towel lined tray.
2. Mix mayonnaise with hot sauce and spread on one side of each piece of toast.
3. On one piece of toast layer SPAM® with Bacon, then lettuce leaves, then tomato slices, then avocado mix.
4. Top with second piece of toast, cut in half… and enjoy!

SPAM® with Bacon Pineapple Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced SPAM® with Bacon
  • 1 cup diced pineapple (removed from 1 whole fresh pineapple)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, divided
  • 2 medium eggs, slightly beaten
  • Dash white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup small button mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 2 green onions, with tops, chopped

Preparation

1. Heat oil in pan, fry SPAM® on each side until golden brown, then put fried SPAM® in paper towel lined tray.
2. Cut pineapple in half lengthwise and remove the fruit from the middle. Cut out the eyes and core. Set pineapple shell aside. Dice the pineapple removed from the middle. Dry the diced pineapple with paper towels.
3. In a medium bowl, add 1/2 teaspoon salt and the pepper to the eggs.
4. Dice SPAM® in 1/2-inch pieces.
5. Heat a wok until very hot. Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil and tilt the wok to coat the sides. Add the eggs. Cook and stir until the eggs are thickened throughout but still moist. Remove the eggs from the wok and set aside. Wash and thoroughly dry the wok.
6. Make sure all the ingredients are dry before cooking. Reheat the wok until very hot. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil and tile to coat the sides of the wok. Add the rice and stir-fry for 2 minutes. If you cannot stir-fry fast enough, reduce the heat so the rice will not burn. Stir in the soy sauce and continue stirring until the rice is mixed well with the soy sauce. Stir in the SPAM® Less Sodium, eggs, mushrooms, peas, and the remaining 1 teaspoon salt. Stir-fry for 2 minutes, or until the entire mixture is hot. Stir in the pineapple and green onions.
7. Rinse the pineapple shell with boiling water, dry with paper towels. Place the pineapple rice into the pineapple shell and serve.

SPAM® Teriyaki Noodles

Ingredients

  • 1 12-ounce can SPAM® Teriyaki, sliced into 8
  • 1 16-ounce bag dumpling noodles
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1½ cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/3 cup green onions, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons HOUSE OF TSANG® Korean Teriyaki Sauce

Preparation

1. Cook dumpling noodles according to package directions in salted water
2. Slice SPAM® Teriyaki and cut into lengths
3. In large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add SPAM® Teriyaki, mushrooms and onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until SPAM® Teriyaki is golden and onions and mushrooms are tender.
4. Add teriyaki sauce to skillet; toss to combine. Stir noodles into SPAM® Teriyaki. Toss gently to combine.

SPAM® Teriyaki Musubi

Ingredients

  • 1 12-ounce can SPAM® Teriyaki, cut into length-wise (using only four pieces)
  • 3 cups steamed rice, sticky
  • Furikake
  • 2 oz radish sprouts, for garnish
  • 2 oz pickle ginger, for garnish
  • 3-4 sheets of Japanese Nori
  • Teriyaki sauce, to drizzle
  • Water, for assembling
  • Musubi mold

Preparation

1. Sauté SPAM® Teriyaki over medium heat in light oil until golden brown, 2-3 minutes. Cool for 2-3 minutes before assembling into musubi mold.
2. Place a ½ sheet of Nori on table, shiny side down. Place musubi mold on nori. Add 2 ounces of steamed rice and one slice of SPAM® Teriyaki, then add 2 more ounces of rice. Make sure the rice is evenly distributed.
3. Press mold down evenly on rice. Remove mold and nish wrapping with nori.

Tip: Keep musubi mold in warm water until ready to use to avoid sticking of rice before starting.
Tip: Use a bit of water to secure nori.

SPAM® Bacon Fried Rice

Ingredients

SPAM® Bacon or new SPAM® MaLa, white rice, green peas, corn, beech mushroom

Condiment

Oil, salt, chicken essence

Preparation

1. Cut SPAM® Bacon or new SPAM® MaLa into cubes, mixed with green peas, corn and beech mushroom, add some oil and salt; stir fry until cooked.
2. Add cooked rice, some salt and chicken essence mix well.

In large skillet, brown SPAM® Classic until it is lightly browned and crisp. Place rice into the musubi press and press down until compact. Drizzle with teriyaki sauce. Place the sliced SPAM® Classic on top of the rice. Remove SPAM® Classic and rice from musubi press. Wrap with a strip of nori.

SPAM® XO Sauce Stir Fry Bitter Melon

Ingredients

Bitter melon, beech mushrooms, SPAM® Classic

Condiment

Oil, salt, sugar, chicken essence, Sichuan peppercorn, XO sauce

Preparation

1. Remove the ends, seeds and pith of the bitter melon, cut rootless beech mushroom and SPAM® Classic into slices.
2. Add oil to the frying pan, heat until it reaches 60% hot, add Sichuan peppercorns and XO sauce, fry until 70% hot, add bitter melon, beech mushrooms, stir fry and add some salt. Add SPAM® Classic and chicken essence when it is 80% hot, stir fry a few times. Finish with a small amount of sugar.

Ingredients

SPAM® Classic, eggs, Farfalle (or regular Italian pasta), asparagus

Preparation

1. Cut SPAM® Classic into thin pieces, blanch asparagus, cook Farfalle.
2. Heat a pan, pour salad oil in the hot pan, add sliced SPAM® Classic and the cooked Farfalle; stir fry for 1 minute; add cream and asparagus, cook for another minute (or until cream is half absorbed).
3. Add a yolk, quickly stir and mix it, then add salt and pepper for flavour. At the end, sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.
